Bags are packed and ready to go.
Manipulating the remote control became a memory game of some sort. Good thing I ended up with this. Can’t understand the commentators but hey, I know how to play the game.
So, I’ve been here in China since Tuesday, May 29. From Shanghai, we went to WuJiang City to do what we are supposed to do. It just feels weird that almost every meal, beer has been staple and they treat it like water. I feel the urge to drink even if I really don’t like it since they said that it’s part of their culture, that if you don’t drink with them, you are not their friend and vice versa. It’s been raining here since we landed. I think it’s the rainy season now. As they would put it, ‘it was so unlucky.’
Contrary to the popular belief that there’s rivalry between the Filipinos and the Chinese, I don’t feel any tension here. So far, my Chinese folks have been so kind and hospitable. I’m thankful to God that everything is okay.
One sad fact that we have to endure while we are here is that, you can’t access Facebook and Twitter. So I have to use other social networking platforms to update my online social life. I can actually receive twitter notifications on my phone but my twitter feed doesn’t refresh. Lately, I discovered that they have tumblr here so I can use this to update my friends and family back home. I also have to use YM to chat with some friends in Manila.
I haven’t done any shopping yet and I doubt if I could still do it. There’s still a lot of work to do. I hope to tour around and discover some great things in this country.
‘Til then.
Xie xie,
Gian
Just one of the things that I’m gonna miss here in WuJiang City.
The lake at the back of the inn. Great morning view. Good morning WuJiang City. :)
After 3 weeks of no play.
